The State Government is planning to extend the currently running Aqua Metro Line to enhance connectivity of Proposed Jewar Airport with other NCR regions. Officials have proposed a 29 km long metro corridor on the route with Pari Chowk as the interchange station.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has already finished the Techno-feasibility report of the metro line. DMRC officials will present this report to the YEIDA officials in a meeting next week. The Yamuna Expressway Authority will take up this report in their 65th board meeting for further approval in a meeting later this month.
DMRC sources said that this route will be a fully elevated corridor which will start from Pari Chowk and end inside the Jewar Airport premises to offer easy accessibility. The 29 km route will pass through various sectors of YEIDA area which is sector 17, 17A, 18, 20, 21, 22D, 22E, 28 and 29 of the Yamuna Expressway area.
Confirming the above news, YEIDA CEO Arunvir Singh said, “The final feasibility report from DMRC on metro connectivity to Jewar via Pari Chowk in Greater Noida is expected by next Monday. The DMRC officials have already studied the full map and route extension, which we will be present in our board meeting for approval. Once approved, the work on metro connectivity to Jewar will start sometime this year, following a decision on the central-state share of funding for the project,”
Just Yesterday, the state govt. has presented their budget for the financial year 2019-20 wherein they have allocated Rs 800 crore for the International Airport at Jewar. The govt. is also planning to lay the foundation stone of the Greenfield international Airport this month only so that the work can be kick-started soon. The central govt is expecting to start the operations of the Airport by 2022-23.
